If you’re reading this, then it’s a safe assumption that you care about research data. Do you also share my impatience to accelerate the transition to open data, unlocking its many benefits to research and society?

The Springer Nature Research Data team are looking for keen advocates who want to make change happen and would be willing to collaborate with us, and give us feedback and insights. With you we want to develop new ways of supporting good research data practice.

We’re not interested in locking research data behind proprietary publishing systems, we want to enable the research community to set their data free, sharing and making it discoverable and useful for others.

We’ve already made a start with our data journals like Scientific Data, our research data policies, recommended repositories list, services like our Research Data Helpdesk, and piloting new services like our Data Support Service. So what next?

If you could make one thing happen tomorrow to speed our progress to open data, what would it be?

If that’s the kind of question you like thinking about and you’d be interested in joining our collaborative group for research data innovators, I’d really like to be in touch. Please send me a message or leave a comment below. I look forward to working with you.
