The Research Data Community brings together those keen to make data sharing and good research data practice the new normal. It is a space to discuss ideas, find support, and share best practice around research data. Through sharing posts, discussion, and images and video content, members communicate with one another, and the wider research community, on topics from fundamental science and data collection, use and sharing, through to data policy developments and the impact on society.

At Springer Nature we want to play our part in providing credit and solutions to encourage the sharing of research data, and will share our progress here, as well as updates from Springer Nature journals and editorial teams on their data-related policies and practises. We encourage you to share your research data stories, news and questions with us.

The Research Data Community is just one of the Nature Portfolio and Springer Nature Communities, a series of community blogs that bring together those interested in a broad area of research, where you can explore the latest research findings, generate discussion with your peers and explore the news and opinions that matter to you. You can join as many Communities as you wish – whether that be just those related to your field of research, or all of those that discuss topics that interest you – that may even be all of them!

As a research publisher, Springer Nature is home to many trusted brands including Springer, Nature Portfolio, BMC, Scientific American, and Palgrave Macmillan. Our Communities bring together the latest research findings, news, opinions and information from across our brands – which is why you will see the Communities are sometimes branded differently. Whichever branding a Community uses, everyone is welcome to join and get involved in the Community.
